The “Lancers” of Beta Sig completed their sixth season at the Chavious Arena, St LouisUniversity on March 20 under the direction of Roger Seifert and his team of mentors and parents
There were 36 teams from eight states in the competition for a spot in the National Championships. Team 1444 did not fare as well as in some past years, finishing 22nd in the competition.
The members did, however, have the same enthusiasm as in previous years and learned that their design for this year’s robot was not quite what this year’s contest required. The critique at the conclusion of competition indicated that they had learned a lot since the members were well aware of the reasons for their design’s modest performance.
Everyone associated with the team had their usual fun and rewarding experience and, are looking forward to next season. Several activities and demonstrations are scheduled for the summer months which help to keep the members active and involved with robotics.
